Cadavre Exquis is a photographic association game based on a method developed by the Surrealists around André Breton. One photographer begins with an image and passes it to the next person in the sequence. That person responds freely – formally or conceptually – and sends their image response to the next participant in line. Step by step, a chain of photographic reactions emerges in which each participant only knows their own work and the image they received. Only in the exhibition does it become visible how these individual responses form a shared visual sequence. Between 2024 and 2026 I participated in this project four times.

Cadavre Exquis – CADbeth#7 (2026)

With two works, I am part of «CADbeth#7» at Kunstquartier Bethanien, the anniversary edition marking ten years of the Cadavre Exquis project. In two rounds, 30 photographers develop a chain of 60 visual responses that only come together as a shared sequence in the exhibition.

Cadavre Exquis – Deutsches Technikmuseum Berlin (2025)

In 2025 I contributed two works to the exhibition «The Living City» at the Deutsches Technikmuseum. In this edition, the Cadavre Exquis project was realised for the first time in cooperation with a large cultural institution and adapted to the theme of the city. Across several rounds, a series of more than 70 photographs emerged, forming an open visual map of urban life.

Here are my two contributions to the exhibition at the museum:

Cadavre Exquis – CADkarl (2024–2025)

For the edition «CADkarl», a series of 30 photographs was created in cooperation with the Höpfner Foundation, involving 15 artists. The works were produced in two consecutive rounds of the game.
The series was first presented at Studio Hoe in Karlsruhe and later shown at AFF Galerie in Berlin.

Cadavre Exquis – CADbeth#5 (2024)

With «CADbeth#5» I participated in the Cadavre Exquis project for the first time in 2024. The exhibition at Kunstquartier Bethanien presented 60 photographs by 30 photographers, created in two rounds of the game: once forward and once in reverse order through the drawn sequence of participants.
